Situated between Cambridge and London, the £230m Camro Data Campus spans 15 acres and will ultimately deliver 40MW of IT load across 150,000 sq ft of technical space, powered entirely by 100% renewable energy. Designed for future scalability, the campus has potential to grow to 83MW, making it a significant hub for the UK’s digital infrastructure.
Pipetech was engaged by JCA Engineering over two phases to deliver the supply and installation of pipework for the cooling infrastructure and office fit-out. The cooling systems served the site’s zero indirect evaporative cooling (IEC) units, with all associated pipework fabricated from ABS to support efficiency and ease of installation. For the office areas, copper was used for domestic water systems and HDPE with electrofusion welding for drainage, all completed to stringent quality standards. The phased delivery approach supported programme flexibility while maintaining alignment with the campus’s sustainability objectives.
