One Liverpool Street is a landmark 10-storey commercial development located on a prominent site in the City of London. Positioned above live underground infrastructure, including the Metropolitan Line and Crossrail tunnels, the project required careful planning and innovative delivery solutions. The building will offer premium office and retail space and is targeting a BREEAM “Outstanding” certification, reflecting a strong commitment to environmental performance and sustainable design.
Pipetech were engaged to deliver the shell and core mechanical pipework installation, which included the design, supply, fabrication, and installation of modular riser modules and skids. Working within the constraints of the site’s sensitive location and limited access, Pipetech deployed prefabrication strategies to ensure efficient and safe execution.
A standout feature of the project was the delivery of floor-fed riser modules, supported by bespoke steelwork frames designed to be easily manoeuvred using pallet trucks. This approach enabled rapid installation and reduced manual handling risks. In the basement plant areas, all mechanical pipework was assembled offsite and delivered as complete units, overcoming spatial limitations and accelerating the programme.
