The Pipefitter will interpret blueprints, ensure proper alignment, and install pipe systems that meet safety and regulatory standards. A strong understanding of materials, systems, and troubleshooting skills is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and repair piping systems in commercial and industrial settings.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation requirements.
- Measure, cut, and thread pipe according to specifications.
- Use various hand and power tools to fit and secure pipes and related components.
- Inspect installed systems for quality and ensure they meet relevant safety codes
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty systems.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter or similar role.
- Certification or relevant training in pipefitting (e.g., NVQ or apprenticeship).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of pipe materials, fittings, and systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in various environments, including tight or challenging spaces.
